BRINJAL DAL


Brinjal Dal is a Konkani style dal curry made with Green Brinjal and split Moong dal.A very simple, delicious and easy to make dal curry goes well with Rice, Chapathi, Phulkas etc.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Brinjal Dal Recipe.

Ingredients:-

Green Brinjal.     -2
Split Moong dal. -1/2cup
Green chillies.     -2
Salt.                     -to taste.

For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil.    -1tsp
Mustard seeds.-1tsp
Cumin seeds.   -1/2tsp
Curry leaves.    -1spring


Instructions:-

Remove the stem and wash the green Brinjals.Chop the green Brinjals into 1/2 inch lengthy pieces and keep aside.

Wash and half slit Green chillies and keep aside.

Wash the split Moong dal and pressure cook along with chopped Brinjal and half slit Green chillies adding required water for 3 whistles on medium flame and keep aside.


Method:-

Transfer the cooked split Moong dal and green Brinjal to a cooking vessel.

Add 2 cup of water and required Salt and mix well. Boil on low flame for 2 minutes and switch off the flame.

Heat oil in a pan for seasoning on low flame.Splutter Mustard seeds and saute well.Add Cumin seeds and Curry leaves and saute well.Switch off the flame.

Pour the above seasoning into the Brinjal Dal curry in the cooking vessel.

A very tasty and delicious Brinjal Dal is ready to serve with Rice, Chapathi, Phulkas etc.
