Mitke Sange Chutney (Cluster Beans Chutney)


Cluster beans is called Mitke Sang in Konkani. Mitke Sange Chutney is a very tasty Chutney made with Cluster beans, Coconut gratings and other ingredients.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Mitke Sange Chutney/ Cluster Beans Chutney.


Ingredients:-

Cluster beans.   -20
Green chillies.    - 5
Curry leaves.      -1 spring
Grated Coconut. -2tbsp
Coconut oil.         -1tsp
Urad dal.             -1tsp
Cumin seeds.      -1tsp
Roasted Gram.    -3tbsp ( Pottu Kadala)
Tamarind.            - a marble size
Salt.                     - to taste



For Seasoning:-

Coconut oil.      -1tsp
Mustard seeds. -1/2tsp
Curry leaves.     -few




Instructions:-

Wash the Cluster beans.Trim both the ends and chop the Cluster beans into 1/2 inch pieces and keep aside.



Method:-

1).Heat 1tsp Coconut oil in a pan and add Urad dal and Cumin seeds and saute well.Add Green chillies and Curry leaves and fry well. Add chopped Cluster beans and required Salt.Mix well and saute all the ingredients in the pan for 2 minutes on low flame.

2).Add Roasted Gram /Pottu Kadala and saute well.

3).Add grated Coconut and Tamarind and mix well.

4).Mix all the ingredients in the pan on low flame and switch off the flame and allow the Chutney mixture to cool.

5).Grind the Chutney mixture to a smooth paste. Transfer the ground Chutney to a bowl.

6).Heat 1tsp Coconut oil in a pan on low flame for seasoning. Splutter Mustard seeds and saute well. Add Curry leaves and Hing power and mix well. Switch off the flame.

7).Add the above seasoning into the Cluster Beans Chutney in the bowl.

8). A very tasty and delicious Mitke Sange Chutney / Cluster Beans Chutney is ready to serve with Dosa, Idli, and also as a side dish with Rice.

Method:-
