The following ingredients are needed to prepare Green Tomato Masala Curry.
Ingredients:-
Green Tomato. -3
Salt. - to taste
For grinding the Masala powder:-
Peanuts. -3tbsp
Coriander seeds. -1tsp
Cumin seeds. -1tsp
For seasoning:-
Oil. -3tbsp
Mustard seeds. -1tsp
Onion. -1medium size.
Cumin seeds -1/2tsp
Curry leaves. -1spring
Coriander powder. -1/2tsp
Red chilli powder. -1/2tsp
Turmeric powder. -1/4 tsp
Hing powder. -1/2tsp
Instructions:-
1. Wash 3 Green Tomatoes and keep aside.
3. Heat a pan and dry roast the Peanuts and grind to a coarse powder. Keep aside.
4. Dry roast 1/2tsp Cumin seeds and 1/2tsp Coriander seeds till nice aroma comes.When cooled grind to a fine powder and keep aside the fine ground mixture of Coriander seeds and Cumin seeds.
5. Peel and finely chop Onion. Keep aside the chopped Onion, Curry leaves, Red chilly powder, Turmeric powder, Hing powder, Mustard seeds, Cumin seeds and Coriander powder.
Method:-
1. Heat oil in a pan and splutter Mustard seeds and Cumin seeds and saute well.
2. Add finely chopped Onion and a pinch of Salt. Saute well till the Onion become translucent.
3. Add Curry leaves and saute well.
4. Add Coriander powder, Red chilli powder, Turmeric powder and Hing powder. Mix well.
5. Add the chopped Tomatoes and sprinkle little Water.Cover and cook on low flame till the Tomatoes become soft.
6. Add required Salt and mix well.
7. Add the coarsely ground Peanuts and saute well.
8. Add the fine ground mixture of Coriander seeds and Cumin seeds.Mix well till the spice powders nicely coated with the cooked Tomato pieces.
9. Saute well and cook for a minute and switch off the flame.
10. A tasty Green Tomato Masala Curry is ready to serve as a side dish with Rice.
