Kele Thallele (Deep Fried Banana Bites)



Kele Thallele is a Konkani style tasty and healthy, deep fried Banana bites served as a tea time snack. Ripe and firm Nendran Banana (Kerala Banana) is used to make this delicious evening snack.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Kele Thallele /Deep Fried Banana Bites 

Ingredients:-

Nendran Banana. -2[ripe]
Rice Flour.           -1cup
Salt.                      -to taste
Sugar.                   -1tsp
Water.                   - as required

Instructions:-

Peel the skin of ripe and firm Nendran Banana (Kerala Banana).Chop the Banana into 1/2 inch slices and keep aside.


In a bowl add Rice flour, little Salt and Sugar. Add little Water and mix well with your hands and make a semi thick batter. Keep aside.


Method:-

Heat oil in a pan on medium flame for deep frying. Dip each Banana slice into the Rice batter and drop it into the hot oil and deep fry the Banana slices until golden colour.


Flip and turn the Banana slices in the hot oil with a slotted spoon to cook and fry on all sides.When done remove the fried Banana slices from hot oil with the slotted spoon.Transfer the deep fried Banana bites into a serving plate.


A tasty and healthy Kele Thellele / Deep Fried Banana Bites are ready to serve as a snack with tea or coffee.
