Green Peas Masala Curry


A delicious masala curry made with dried green peas, onion, tomato and spice powders.Green Peas Masala Curry goes well as a side dish with Rice, Chapathi, Paratha, Phulkas, Puttu or Idiyappam.

The following ingredients are needed to prepare Green Peas Masala Curry.

Ingredients:-

Green peas.                -1cup

Onion.                         -1big
Tomato.                       -1big
Green chillies.              -3
Ginger.                         -1/2 " piece
Curry leaves.                -1spring
Coriander powder.        -1tsp
Red Chilly powder.        -1tsp
Turmeric powder.           -1/4tsp
Garam Masala powder.  -1/2tsp
Cooking oil.                     -3 tsp
Ghee.                              -1tsp
Salt.                                 - to taste

Instructions:-

Wash and soak Green peas for 8 hours or overnight and pressure cook the soaked Green peas for 4 whistles adding little Salt and 2cup of water on high flame or cook the Green peas till soft and keep aside.

Peel and finely chop Onion and keep aside.

Wash and chop Tomato into small pieces and keep aside.

Wash and half slit Green chillies and keep aside.

Peel,wash and chop Ginger into small pieces and keep aside.

Method:-

Heat cooking oil in a pan and add finely choped Onion and saute well.

Add half slit Green chillies and saute well.

Add chopped Ginger pieces and Curry leaves. Saute well till the Onion pieces become translucent.

Add Coriander powder, Red chilly powder and Turmeric powder and saute well on low flame.

Add chopped Tomato pieces and saute well till the chopped Tomato becomes soft.

Add the cooked Green peas along with cooked water and mix well.

Add required Salt and mix well. Boil for 2 minutes on low flame.

When the gravy become little thick add Garam masala powder and mix well.

Add 1tsp Ghee over the gravy and boil for a minute and switch off the flame.

A tasty and delicious Green Peas Masala Curry is ready to serve with Rice, Chapathi, Paratha, Phulkas, Puttu or Idiyappam.
